FAQs & Disclaimers

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

One of the benefits of online therapy (teletherapy) is that you can achieve the same effective results as in-person therapy, all from the comfort of your own home.
You might feel more at ease discussing your feelings and experiences in the familiar environment of your own space. Online therapy offers a sense of anonymity that can encourage you to express yourself more freely.
Accessing therapy from anywhere with an internet connection makes it easier for clients to maintain a regular session schedule, contributing to better therapeutic outcomes.

What is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate?

A Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) is a mental health professional who has completed a graduate degree in counseling and is provisionally licensed to practice counseling under a supervisor approved by the licensing state (Texas).
LPCAs have passed their state board examinations for licensure and are working towards completing 3,000 hours of supervised counseling to apply for full licensure in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
LPCAs provide support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to help clients address various mental health concerns, promoting personal growth and overall well-being.

Where do I attend my appointments?

All sessions are conducted online through a private and secure HIPAA-compliant portal. Once you have booked an appointment, you will receive an email with instructions on accessing the portal for your scheduled appointment.

NOTE: Since these sessions are online, clients must have a reliable internet connection.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network mental health provider. You might qualify for reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services! Check here to verify: mentaya.co/b/B5r9bMMYT8L8TiHfFelT
As an LPC associate, I can provide you with a superbill.
A superbill is a document submitted to your insurance company to seek reimbursement for obtaining out-of-network services.

Do you only work with women?

I work with individuals of all genders and ethnicities; I do not exclusively work with women.
I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, and I welcome those interested in working with me to reach out and schedule a consultation to determine if we would be a good fit! :)

Do you work with children?

I currently provide services to individuals aged 16 years or older.
If you are a parent or legal guardian inquiring about services on behalf of a minor, please email me for more information.
